treasure hunts

a "treasure hunt" is a type of evangelism in which you pray and ask the holy spirit to tell you things about people he wants to minister to and then go out and find the "treasures" on your list. last night a group of us gathered in a park for a treasure hunt. we prayed, worshipped and sought the Lord on what He wanted us to do. we were all filled with the love of Jesus and joy in the holy spirit as we went in two separate groups with lists that had things such as.. soldiers, ben yahoda, pink scarf, lady with a cane, red shirt, give a hug etc.. my group went to ben yahoda, which is a downtown street in jerusalem to look for these treasures! my favorite encounter of the night was with the soldiers. they were standing at the end of ben yahoda so we started talking to them and it turned out one of them had a sprained ankle. we prayed and asked God to heal him. he wasn't a believer but said that if it gets better in the next few days he would thank God. we made sure to tell him to thank Yeshua! as we were praying for him, another soldier got out of the truck and was really excited to see us praying for his friend. he is a believer and was really encouraged bc the day before he had been talking to the guy with a sprained ankle about the Lord and the healing power of God! we got to pray for our brother and bless and encourage him in the Lord. he said it's really hard to be a believer in the army.
pray for God to strengthen the believers in the army and unify them!

i encourage you to go on treasure hunts! it's really fun! the Lord is so eager to minister to people, we just have to make ourselves available and open to hearing from Him. He speaks to all of us. it's a great way to exercise hearing from the holy spirit and talking to people about the Lord. the worst that can happen is they say they don't want to talk to you. so really you have nothing to lose!

Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Revelation1:4-6
